After two decades in the United Kingdom developing a classical and meticulous style Sam returned home to New Zealand. His photographs have a clean graphic quality which is strong, striking and inherently elegant. He has a penchant for the graphic, linear and beautifully simple. Sam has an ability to pare down objects to their essential qualities describing their textures and luminosity. He specializes in still life photography and enjoys documenting detail and experimenting with light, composition, angles and scale.
