Swen was born in Heidelberg, Germany. After working in an advertising studio for a few years he moved to New Zealand and learnt his trade assisting automotive photographers. He combines traditional lighting methods with modern post production techniques, constantly striving to break new ground. On location he relies on his instinct and resourcefulness while enjoying the technical and aesthetic challenges. Swen's images exhibit a strong sense of scale and proportion, exploring the beauty of combining architecture, space and light. His work has a simplistic yet inherently stylish quality to it.
